I absolutely love disposable cameras for their simple and ingenious design. The metal shutter is triggered off by a spring, which is set by the winding mechanism which also advances the film. The shutter, which is spring loaded, also acts to fire off the flash by completing the electric circuit when the shutter is fully open.
